Audubon Outdoors was created to encourage people to become involved in outdoor and nature related activities. The primary objective is to encourage outdoor recreational activities such as nature-based travel and tourism, bird watching, hiking, fishing, golfing, gardening, kayaking, climbing, nature photography and anything else that gets people and families outside and enjoying nature. With a global trend towards increased urbanism also comes a reduced awareness of nature, and the diminished opportunity for children and adults to play freely in nature. It is the objective of Audubon Outdoors to reverse this trend and to promote the conservation and recreation opportunities that exist within our communities, and to serve as the official facilitator of the ISC-Audubon’s philanthropic cause to “Spreading the Seeds of Sustainability.” We accomplish this by converting monies collected through ISC-Audubon memberships, donations, and contributions into seeds, and/or seed grants to communities to establish fruit and vegetable gardens, bird and wildlife sanctuaries, and for the beautification of urban and suburban landscapes by creating flower and native plant gardens. We also establish demonstration and research projects for land owners who wish to demonstrate outdoor conservation techniques.

These seeds are used by communities to establish fruit and vegetable gardens, bird and wildlife sanctuaries, and for the beautification of urban and suburban landscapes by creating flower and native plant gardens.
